A little piece of art

One of the reasons I started this blog was to have a place to post ATCs (Artist Trading Cards), an art form which I am particularly fond of. I can think of no better way to begin this endeavor than to display this card created by my long-time friend Judy, with whom I exchange ATCs monthly. Judy is a fabric and paper artist who is incredibly talented, especially in creating faces and landscapes. This is the card she made for (and of) me for our August swap. I am flattered & I absolutely love it! Thank you, dear friend!

Puppy love

I am happy to introduce you to the newest member of our family, Stone. He is absolutely the cutest! An eleven week old German Shepherd pup, he came to us from a breeder in Virginia. Interestingly enough, two of our sons also adopted pups from the same litter, so Stone has two bothers close by for him to play with. Needless to say, having a new puppy consumes a lot of our time and energy, but he is doing extremely well and we just love him!

Special times...special friends

By the grace of God, through the gifted hands and mind of my husband Arthur, we are blessed to have a beautiful summer house on Cape Cod; and sharing this special place with family and friends completes my happiness here. A visit from two dear friends, Lorna and Judy, ended last evening, and I miss them already. It was so good to have them here, spending time together and sharing of ourselves with each other. Hopefully my husband will grab a few days off from work and be here soon, Garett (our youngest son) and I look forward to seeing him!

A new beginning

Sitting here this evening with my dear friend Judy, I am beginning this blog on a wing and a prayer, and of course under her loving guidance. My hopes for this space....well, I'm just not really certain yet, but it, like me, will evolve with time and experience. It has been a beautiful day here on Cape Cod...not just weatherwise, but most especially "friends-wise"; the perfect day to start my blog.
